I am pleased to welcome students, academicians, government and private entities and all interested stakeholders to the Local Government Training Institute (LGTI) community.
Our institute has a unique purpose of being the only public institute with a mandate to strengthen administration of Local Government Authorities (LGA) in Tanzania. The Local Government Training Institute was established by the Act of Parliament No. 26 of 1994 (Cap 396 Revised in 2002) as a body corporate.
The Institute serves as a practical-oriented professional centre focusing on demand driven training, research, advisory and consultancy services in the fields of local government finance, administration and management. To realize this mandate, our institute is committed to have academic and non-academic staff with strong capability and committed to bring out the best to students, LGAs and the entire community we serve.
Our institute website describes a range of academic programmes, demand driven short courses and consultancy services which LGTI offers as part of the institute Vision and Mission.
We are doing our best to ensure that the institute offers excellent learning experiences and support services to our students, LGAs, government and non-governmental entities
